AR7s Series - Sri Lanka 40 - 12 Philippines

Tuskers claimed the 3rd spot at the first leg of the Asia Sevens Series which concluded in Hong Kong. Japan finished as the champions whilst the hosts became the second best going down 12 - 00 to Japan in the cup final.

Before the 3rd/4th play-off Sri Lanka lost scoreless to Hong Kong 31 - 00 after a scrappy affair. Tuskers had few opportunities to score through Buddima Piyarathne, Gayan Weerarathne and Adeesha Weerathuga but was unfortunate make it count.

Hong Kong looked sharp with experience players Jamie Hood and Ben Rimene taking control of the game and after leading 14 - 00 at the half time scored three more tries for the 31 - 00 win.

Sri Lanka v Philippines

Philippines made a shocking enter after they beat South Korea in their pool game. However, it was Tuskers who produced the best out of the bronze final with running six tries. Naveen Henakankanamage scored the first try as he outburst his opposite number and Sudam Sooriarachchi controlled his body weight by the sidelines to curve under the post for the second try.

Volcanoes made a lovely set scrum move from the shorter-side and opened their account by the prop Donald Coleman. Just before the half time Dinuk Amerasinghe scored his 4th try of the tournament with courtesy of Danush Dayan's off-load.

Perfect start in the second half for the Philippines as they scored through Joe Dawson. However, Dayan made his way with a show and go followed by Buddima Piyarathne running circles for the fifth try. Captain Srinath Sooriyabandara scored the sixth try in the corner.
