Police hold the edge

By Shamzeer Jaleel

Police Sports Club will be all out to reach the final of the Clifford Cup knock out rugby when they lock horns with Air Force in the first semi-final which will be worked off at the Racecourse rugby ground today.

Kick-off is scheduled at 4 pm.

Police demolished CR hopes with a magnificent performance in their quarter final encounter while Air Force was lucky to move forward with a walk over from Kandy as they pulled out of the tournament.

Cops last made the Clifford Cup final 4 years back but they were beaten by Kandy SC in the final encounter at the Hills. Cops will expect from Sachith Silva, Wageesha and Janith Chandimal while Air Force will depend deeply on Seelaratne, Iddamalgoda

Police last won the Clifford Cup in 1991 while Air Force won only one in the history that was way back in 1986. On form the Cops should walk in to the final encounter on March 24.
