Police Sports Club will be all out to reach the final of the
Clifford Cup knock out rugby when they lock horns with Air Force in the first
semi-final which will be worked off at the Racecourse rugby ground today.
Kick-off is scheduled at 4 pm.
Police demolished CR hopes with a magnificent performance in
their quarter final encounter while Air Force was lucky to move forward with a
walk over from Kandy as they pulled out of the tournament.
Cops last made the Clifford Cup final 4 years back but they
were beaten by Kandy SC in the final encounter at the Hills. Cops will expect
from Sachith Silva, Wageesha and Janith Chandimal while Air Force will depend
deeply on Seelaratne, Iddamalgoda
Police last won the Clifford Cup in 1991 while Air Force won
only one in the history that was way back in 1986. On form the Cops should walk
in to the final encounter on March 24.
