SLR joins hands with Nippon Paints to conduct girls rugby competitions

Nippon Paint Lanka officially came forward as sponsors for the upcoming provincial rugby tournaments conducted by Sri Lanka Rugby, which includes an Inter-School Junior Tournament and a Tag Rugby Tournament for Universities, both for girls.

Accordingly, the event calendar kicks off today with the Southern Province Inter-Club Women’s Rugby 7s Tournament, which will be played through the day at the St. Aloysius’ College ground in Galle. The events will continue with the Central Province Inter-Schools Under-12 and Under-14 Rugby Tournament to be played at Nittawela in Kandy on September 10.

The Western Province Inter-Club 7s Tournament will be played at Police Park on September 11, followed by the Western Province Inter-University Women’s Tag Rugby Tournament to be played at the CR&FC ground at Longdon Place on September 17.

Nemantha Abeysinghe, the General Manager of Nippon Paint Lanka and Rizly Illyas,

the President of the Sri Lanka Rugby signed the agreement last Wednesday.
