Rugby reaches the South of Sri Lanka

The Platinum awards initiative to spread Rugby across the country reached the Southern Province, with Tissamaharama the 1^st stop.  

The welcome and keenness for the program was immense. Debaraweva National College was the venue. 316 boys and girls from 4 schools were present. The response was tremendous, and much appreciated by the organizes of the program.

Debaraweva National College (57 boys, 109girls), Debaraweva President's College (81 boys, 65girls), Pallemallakanitu Vidyalaya (01 boy, 02 girls) and Sooriyaweva National College (01 girl) participated. The presence of 173 enthusiastic girls was really promising for Rugby.

Under 12, 14, 16, and 18 were the age categories. There were a number of invitees and dignitaries present at the program. Coaches from Sri Lanka Rugby conducted the introductory program.
