Dialog Rugby League 2019/20
A strong first half performance
enabled Police SC to pull off a win against Air Force SC 29 points to 12 in the
Dialog Rugby League game played at Police Park.
Police started of brilliantly scoring within the first 3
minutes with Nisal Samadhi touching down. Yohan Peiris failed to convert. It
was an early lead for Police, 05 nil.
Soon after that Police once again breached the Air force
defense for Kasun Rajakaruna to score. Yohan Peiris this time converted a
difficult kick to add the extras. 12 points to nil Police in the lead.
Police continued to dominate and score their 3rd
try of the game. Shan Akila was next to go over the line. Yohan Peiris made no
mistake with the conversion and further added a penalty to increase the lead to
22 points to nil.
Lahiru Udayanga was given the yellow card making it worse
for the visitors. Udaya Sanjula went over next for police benefiting from the
extra man. Yohan Peiris added the extras. 29 points to nil police were way
ahead.
At half time Police were well
ahead 29 points to Nil.
The break served Air force well, as they came into the 2nd
half a much better side. Police were 1 man down early as Hashan Fernando was
sent to the bin.
The Police defense was tight and held on. Air Force took a
while to finally breach the Police defense and score their 1st try
through Thimira Amanda. Gayantha Iddamalgoda failed to add the extras. 29 points to 05 police leading.
Adeesha Hadunpathirana was next sent to the bin for
Police. The visitors took advantage and scored their 2nd try when
second-row Shashika Fernando scored. Gayantha Iddamalgoda added the extras. 12
points to 29 Air Force were behind.
Thereafter neither of the teams managed to add further
points. The hosts could not add any points on the board in the 2nd
half. But it ended as a comfortable win for Police SC.
