Kandy trash Air Force at Ratmalana

Kandy SC continue to dominate the Dialog Rugby League with yet another massive win over Air Force SC at Ratmalana over the weekend. The final scores read 55 points to 08 in favor of the defending champions.

It took some time for the strong Kandy outfit to settle in with the Air force defense been tight. But in the 13^th minute of play Lavanga Perera crossed the try line to put points on the board for Kandy. Tharinda Ratwatte made no mistake with the conversion. Kandy in the lead 07 nil.

Gayantha Iddamalgoda converted a penalty to score 3 points for the host soon after.

There after Kavindu Perera extended the lead for the visitors when he went over the whitewash. Tharinda Ratwatte missed the conversion this time. Kandy leading 12 points to 03.

There were no more points scored in the 1^st half with Air force managing to hold off Kandy and keeping them down to 12 points. Half time scores Kandy 12, Air Force 03.

2 minutes into the second half Suhiru Anthony managed to score for the visitors to put pressure on the host .Tharinda Ratwatte added the 2 extra points. Kandy leading 19 to 03.

Three minutes later Jason Dissanayake scored the bonus point try. Tharinda Ratwatte was spot on with the kick. The lead was widening, Kandy leading 26 to 03.

Yohan Perera who came in as replacement gave some respect to the score card when he went over the line for Air Force. Gayantha Iddamalgoda though failed to add the extras.

Shabeer Mohomed was sent off with a yellow card in the process for the visitors. Kandy won a penalty though and Tharinda Ratwatte managed to extend the lead to 29 points.

Shabeer Mohomed who was back on the field made amends to score once again for Kandy.  Tharinda Ratwatte converted cleanly. 38 to 08 Kandy leading.  

Diluksha Dange scored next for Kandy and this was soon followed by a try from and Suhiru Anthony. Tharinda Ratwatte was spot on with his kicking to add the extras. 50 on the board for Kandy.

Srinath Sooriyabandara scored next to put an ending to the game. This time Ratwatte missed the extras. Kandy dominated the 2^nd half and beat the host convincingly. Sitting on top of the table, Kandy will play their next few games at Nittawela and are in a good position to defend their title.
