Sri Lanka men's team kicked off the Borneo 7s in style as they thump Islanders Rugby Club (IRC) for a record 80 points to nil. The three day tournament will end on the 18th March 2018.
Brilliant start from the tuskers playing for the strategy and the game plan. Navy sports club winger Buddima Piyarathne scored the first try with a lovely 75m run and with some individual pace. Then the on it was raining tries as we saw some skills of simple basic catch pass execution.
Although the opposition is not up to the match of the tuskers this mammoth win will certainly lift the momentum. Kavindu Perera injected some pace two score two good tries in the game. Skipper Sudarshana Muthuthanthri also made his impact with a try and the replacement Reeza Raffaideen scored a hat-trick with in an ample time.
Kandy SC player Danush Dayan also scored a couple of tries. Youngsters Adeesha Weerathunga and Kevin Dixon also had a good game. However, Sri Lanka will play against the Sabah Eagles tomorrow (Saturday) at 1.30pm Sri Lanka time.
Sabah Eagles are filled with Fijian power house and Sri Lanka will try all gun blazing to pass the barrier.
