Army date Navy in a must win game
By Shamzeer Jaleel
Confident Army SC will be meet the Sailors at Ratmalana on
December 7. Army after their last week%u2019s win against CH & FC will be with
full of confidence meeting the Sailors. Army so far lost out to Havies and
Kandy. Meanwhile the Sailors lost out to CR & FC and Havies winning against
Police and Air Force. So the battle between the two forces going to be
interesting and no one is favored to pull it off easily in this game.
Navy led by Thilina Weerasinghe he is yet to find his peak
in kicking at goal and territorial advantage play. He is capable of toppling
any side with his ample talent in kicking and finding touch at a very god
distance without much effort. This could be the game for him to return to his
peak. Mohamed Abzaal, Buddima Piyaratne, and Adeesha Weeratunga are cracking
players. They are coached by Mothilal Jayathilake.
Meanwhile the Solders are led by Upul Abeyratne and well
supported by Mohamed Rizvi, Manoj Wickramarachchi and Dikkumbura are men made
out of steel. Gayan Salinda kicks will be vital to narrow the gap. Army are
coached by Nihal Viper (jnr) Gunaratne. On form it will be a close battle
between the two forces outfit with neither of them holding the edge in this
vital encounter. The venue could be changed depending on the inquiry outcome at
the Air Force and Navy encounter where one of the Assistant referee was
assaulted by spectators. The hosting team is responsible for safety of players,
referees and spectators. An inquiry will be held by Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR)
tomorrow.
