Sri Lanka Rugby Joins Sirasa for Gamata Krida

Sri Lanka Rugby joined hands with Sirasa TV to promote and uplift sports in rural areas of Sri Lanka. Gamata Krida is an initiative by Sirasa TV to help and uplift sports in villages, giving the opportunity to kids and to spot hidden talent.

The program was carried out in the Western province, Gampaha District at Kirillawa Central College. 131 Girls and 225 Boys participated from the host School. In addition students from Weboya Maha vidyalaya Girls school also participated with 22 girls. There was a Total number of 378 boys and girls.

The introduction to Rugby and coaching was done by coaches from Sri Lanka Navy Rugby in coordination with Sri Lanka Rugby.

Gamata Krida is an ongoing initiative which will be carried out on a regular basis a cross Sri Lanka.
